V2 model with new tube ring and foot design.

This compact 50mm f/5.5 APO refractor telescope has triplet air-spaced APO optics, including two pieces of ED glass. Triplet optics are rare in a telescope this size.

The Sharpstar 50EDPH is a high-quality, versatile portable small aperture astrograph. An optional 0.84x Reducer is also available that converts the 50 EDPH into a highly portable astrograph.

The 0.84x reducer reduces the focal ratio to f/4.6, provides excellent field flattening capabilities, and supports sensors up to APS-C size. The reducer also has an M48 adapter and a built-in M48*0.75 2" filter thread for direct filter mounting.

The rear of the Sharpstar 50EDPH is equipped with a 1.25" adapter, which can be used with a 1.25" diagonal and eyepiece for rich field visual astronomy. When used this way, it provides beautifully sharp views of The Moon and the Galilean Moons and main cloud belts of Jupiter, Saturn's rings, etc.

With a body length of 196mm and weighing only 1kg, it easily fits into a backpack or airline carry-on luggage. The retractable lens hood shortens the overall length further and increases portability.

The compact size makes it an excellent telescope for use with portable astronomy mounts, such as the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer GTi.

Other features include a 70mm Vixen-style dovetail plate with slotted 1/4-20 threaded holes, which makes it easy to adapt to most equatorial mounts and to mount it on a photo tripod.

The sturdy dual-speed rack and pinion focuser, with a 1:10 precision fine adjustment knob, have a travel length of 60mm.

A 360°rotator with a locking screw is located before the focuser.

The Sharpstar 50EDPH also includes two 5cm M48 extension tubes. The extension tubes can be connected to the eyepiece for direct visual observation instead of the diagonal or to a planetary camera for planetary imaging.
