Built around a professional-grade 70mm FLP51 ED doublet objective, it delivers genuine hydrogen-alpha solar performance alongside capable nighttime observation, in a single instrument that fits in one hand and sets up in minutes.
By day, the internal pressure-tuned etalon delivers a verified <0.45Å bandpass across the 60mm H-alpha aperture. Doppler True Barometric Pressure Tuning responds instantly and precisely — shift the bandpass position with a twist of the knob and watch chromospheric structures respond in real time. Prominences arcing off the solar limb, filaments tracing dark paths across the disk, active regions alive with magnetic detail — all revealed with the immediacy that only pressure tuning can provide. No altitude sensitivity, no mechanical drift, no sweet-spot hunting. Uniform performance across the entire field.
By night, remove the solar module in minutes and the LS60MT becomes a premium 70mm f/6 ED doublet refractor. The FLP51 ED glass delivers the color correction and contrast that lunar, planetary, and double-star observation demands. The same 2" dual-speed focuser with 10:1 fine focus reduction. The same optical quality. A complete second telescope that was there all along.
The 16mm flat-field eyepiece provides 26x magnification for comfortable full-disk solar views and limb surveys. The SunLock red dot finder makes solar acquisition fast and intuitive. The aluminum hard case with custom foam insert protects the system for travel and storage.
