The LS50THa Premium Kit is the complete 50mm Lunt experience — single stack and double stack capability in one package, with everything needed for serious visual observation and imaging at sub-half-angstrom bandpass. The LS50C compact double-stack filter threads directly onto the front of the OTA in seconds, no tools required, reducing combined system bandpass to <0.28Å.
The simplicity of the LS50C attachment is one of its most compelling features. Unlike larger double-stack systems that require careful alignment or factory installation, the LS50C threads onto the OTA front element like a filter — install it in seconds before a session, remove it just as quickly. The front-mounted etalon is tilt-tuned, working in series with the internal pressure-tuned etalon to narrow the combined bandpass. Two independently controllable etalons, two tuning mechanisms, one compact, portable system that fits in the same case as the standard telescope.
At <0.28Å combined bandpass, the chromosphere reveals structure that single-stack instruments at this aperture cannot resolve. Plage boundaries sharpen into defined cellular networks. Filaments show internal threading, dark cores, and complex multi-strand architecture. Active regions display the full depth of their magnetic structure. Prominences reveal internal flow patterns and structural detail from base to tip that at single-stack bandwidth appear as simple smooth arcs.
The 1.25" R&P focuser with integrated brake handles cameras and filter wheels for imaging sessions. The 7.2–21.5mm zoom eyepiece covers the full magnification range from full-disk context to maximum-resolution detail in a single twist — the ideal companion for a system where conditions change and features evolve. The 6" Vixen dovetail provides the extended rail length needed to balance the system with the DS filter in place. Every unit individually assembled, bench-tested, and individually verified.
