100mm Universal Day & Night Modular Telescope
The LS100MT Enhanced Kit is the instrument serious solar observers and imagers choose when they want maximum performance without compromise. It combines 100mm of premium FPL53 ED triplet optics with Lunt's precision pressure-tuned etalon system — and when the Sun sets, it converts in minutes into one of the finest 100mm refractors available for night-sky observation.
The distinction between the LS100MT and the Standard LS100 begins with the objective. The LS100MT uses an FPL53 ED triplet — the same class of optical glass found in reference-grade astronomical refractors — with ion-assisted broadband anti-reflection coatings. The result is exceptional color correction, contrast, and resolution across both solar and night-sky wavelengths. At the H-alpha line, this translates directly into chromospheric detail: finer prominence structure, sharper filament definition, and the ability to resolve the finest features the seeing will allow. The internal pressure-tuned etalon delivers a verified <0.45Å bandpass, uniform across the full 100mm aperture.
The B1800 blocking filter provides 18mm of clear aperture — sufficient to fully illuminate full-frame imaging sensors without vignetting. Paired with the ZWO EAF-compatible dual-speed focuser, this is a system built for serious solar imaging as well as visual observation. The complete four-eyepiece flat-field set covers every magnification from full-disk prominence surveys at 19mm to high-resolution active region work at 8mm. All four share consistent 60° apparent fields and etalon-grade 0.1% AR coatings.
The modular architecture is a genuine advantage. Remove the H-alpha module and install the night-sky backing plate, and the LS100MT becomes a premium 100mm f/7 ED triplet refractor for lunar, planetary, and deep-sky observation. The same FPL53 optics, the same ion-assisted coatings, the same mechanical quality — applied to everything the night sky offers. For observers who want to extend their capability without buying a second instrument, the Enhanced Kit is the answer.
The LS100MT is also double-stack ready. Add a DS100 module at any time to reduce combined system bandpass to <0.28Å — or step up to the Premium Kit for the complete double-stack system with dual independent pressure tuners included from the outset.
