Use 2" filters with your HAC125 DX!
There are two parts to this filter holder. There is a flange that threads onto the HAC125 in place of the original holder. The holder with small thumb screw is removed from the HAC125 and the new flange is threaded in.
There are two camera adapters included with the filter holder kit. One has female M42 threads and works with cameras that have a male M42 thread and 6.5mm backfocus. This includes many ZWO cameras when the 11mm black ring is removed. The popular 533 and 585 cameras fall in this category. The other camera adapter has male M42 threads and is for "planetary" style cameras with a 12.5mm backfocus, such as the ZWO 662 and 678 models.
The filter holder (and more generally the HAC125 itself) is not compatible with cameras with a fixed 17.5mm backfocus such as the ZWO 2600.
The 2" filter is threaded into the camera adapter and the adapter then fits over the flange on the scope and locks in place with set screws (allowing for camera rotation).
The filter holder fits 2" mounted filters that are 6mm thick or less (not including the male threads on the filter). This includes Antlia, Baader, IDAS, Optolong and more.
