Any lens compatible with a Canon EOS camera can be used with the LensSlider. There are thumbscrews which allow rotation of the camera angle for framing your target. The Filter Slider is then mounted between the lens and the camera, allowing the use of LRGB, narrowband or light pollution filters. The Filter Slider takes 2" mounted filters standard, and there are step rings available for using 1.25" mounted, 31mm and 36mm unmounted filters.
The LensSlider has a solid mounting bracket with standard 1/4"-20 mounting hole. The bracket is easily mounted to a piggyback bracket or dovetail on top of your telescope or directly on your mount using standard adapters and dovetails.
The LensSlider is available with the Starizona Filter Slider included, or by itself if you already own a Filter Slider. If you want to mount your EF lenses to your CCD camera without using the Filter Slider, spacers are available to take the place of the Filter Slider.
The constellation of Orion captured with an Atik 490EX monochrome camera, LensSlider and Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens. Lens was set to 18mm at f/4. Filters used were H-alpha, red, green and blue. Total exposure time 3.5 hours.
The backfocus of the LensSlider with Filter Slider in place is 17.5mm. Starlight Xpress, ZWO and some QHY cameras are directly compatible with this spacing and the T-threads on the Filter Slider. For Atik cameras, a 4.5mm spacer is available (see Suggested Accessories at the bottom of this page) to mount the camera at the correct distance from the lens. An optional red-dot finder bracket is available for the LensSlider. See link below.
